Started functioning on 26.8.2013 . The primary health centres attached with the department are 1. Kattampoondy PHC 2. Mangalam PHC 3. Somasipadi PHC. The urban centre is municipal health centre.

Workshop
9.4.2017: Following world health day observation, workshop on Small Bite, Big Hazard – an eye opener session on vector borne disease was organised.
Exhibition was set up with all stages of vector mosquitoes including live specimen & mounted specimen, preventive & control measures.
Practical sessions on fogging & anti larval measures were demonstrated.
100 students benefitted.
Facilities available:
Tools for outbreak investigation (ADD & vector borne disease) is available.
Service offered:
As a part of adolescent health programme, general check-ups of students & counselling services are provided.
